''Husbands''
MYTH:
"If a woman has had sex
in the past with a partner,
husband or boyfriend
she cannot be sexually
assaulted by them at
a later time."

FACT:
Since January of 1983, the
Criminal Code of Canada
recognizes that sexual
assault occurs even
in marriage.  Before this,
society believed that a woman
was the sexual possession of
her husband.  Sexual assault is
a crime, regardless of the past
or present relationship to
the offender.
